Speed run of F.E.A.R. on Low difficulty in 35 segments appended to one file, completed on August 12 2007. Available in three versions: low/normal/high quality DivX. Author's comments: Phew, finally! I never thought that the lowest difficulty available in a game can be this hard. Of course, completing the game on this difficulty level is child's play, but like always, the problem occurs when you're trying to finish it as fast as possible. Most of the levels had to be split into two segments... Topic: F.E.A.R.
Speed run of F.E.A.R. on Extreme difficulty in 38 segments, completed on June 4 2007. Available in three versions: low/normal/high quality DivX. Author's comments: The SDA staff and those who wanted to see this run are the ones to thank. First of all, sorry for using 7000x4500 resolution, FSAA and everything else set on max/on. The graphics are so stunning that you won't be able to hold up with whatever happens in the run, thinking about what my PC specs are. I'm just used to playing like... Topics: F.E.A.R., Hard mode
Speed run of A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia with 100%, done on June 14 2007. Available in five versions: low/normal quality DivX, and normal/high/low quality H.264 MPEG-4. Author's comments: Prologue It's Friday night, and once again, Boy was at home with nothing to do and nobody to see. Though he and his mother had moved to the area well over 2 years ago, Boy has yet to make any friends. Every time he'd try to start a conversation with his classmates, or join in on any of the games... Topics: A Boy and His Blob, 100%, NES
Crackdown is a sandbox third-person shooter released in 2007 by Realtime Worlds. You might have heard of it because it came with the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta, and you also might have heard of it because it's fucking awesome and is one of the 360's better co-op offerings. The premise of the game is that you are a super-powered cop tasked with cleaning up the rampant crime problem of Pacific City. Your focus is directed toward eliminating gang leaders who are holed up in a variety of locations... Topics: let's play, Ambisagrus, A Wooden Palisade, Crackdown
A rather decent platformer based off of a rather decent cartoon show from the 90s. Bonkers is on his first case alone, and must retrieve the Toontown treasure of the Sorcerer's Hat (from Fantasia), the Mermaid's Voice (The Little Mermaid), and the Magic Lamp (Aladdin). Titan Quest is an action RPG developed by Iron Lore Entertainment. It was published and released by THQ on June 26, 2006 with an expansion, Immortal Throne on July 17, 2007. Though some will tell you it's a mere diablo clone, this is a skin deep comparison. It is a point and click hack and slash with masteries (classes) and bindable keys and such, but the story, graphics and mythological setting brings more to the table than any simple diablo knock-off. When Titan Quest was released, it... Topics: let's play, Ceciltron & Just A Friend, Titan Quest
Dead Space is a game that just kind of happened. Electronic Arts has never been known for releasing survival-horror, and Redwood Studios only did licensed work, like The Godfather and The Simpsons. But somehow, a group of people sat down and said, "We love sci-fi. We love horror. Let's make a survival-horror game in space." And they did. And it was great. In 1994, Looking Glass Technologies began what would become a trend of coming out with a great game at a horrible time. System Shock was arguably one of the most innovative games of its time, however, as an FPS (a narrow and limiting definition) it regrettably disappeared within the shadow cast by the earlier release of Doom II. Though it offered true 3D and a deep story with fresh mechanics, the game simply didn't sell. The story of a rogue artificial intelligence being thwarted by the efforts... Ripto's Rage, developed by Insomniac Games, is the sequel to the 1998 platformer "Spyro the Dragon". The original Insomniac trilogy finishes off with "Spyro: Year of the Dragon". The games were exclusive to Playstation and they kind of became a bastion for the Playstation brand. Spyro 2 was released in North America under "Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!" on October 31, 1999 and in Europe as "Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer" on November 5, 1999. Japan got it on March... Publication: http://tasvideos.org/375M.html This is an often overlooked famous game. Here we have a boy and a "blob" that likes all kinds of candies. When the blob eats these candies, it transforms into different tools the boy can use. Note: The Japanese version of this game (Fushigina Blobby - Blobania no Kiki) has a different boy than this USA version, but otherwise the games are the same. Publication: http://tasvideos.org/527M.html A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia (1989) is a popular, whimsical game in which a shapeshifting blob (named Blobert) from the planet Blobolonia teams up with an Earth boy to overcome obstacles on both planets and to defeat Blobolonia's evil emperor. This movie is 13 seconds faster than the previous version by TheAxeMan. The most noticeable improvements are (1) a new technique that allows the boy to walk on air and (2) a small improvement to the... Author's comments: I've finally done Zelda ALTTP 100% SS in less than 2 hours! Single-segment speed run of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past done on March 17 2005. Available in low and normal quality. Author's comments: This is the first time I have tried to speedrun a game properly and the results are actually surprisingly good. I have a few people I need to thank for helping me with this run. The biggest help for my run came from TSA. Firstly, his previous speedruns taught me many tricks I didn't know for speed completions, but also helped inspire me to try and do... In this game Link's must save Princes Zelda and the rest of Hyrule from Ganon once again. In his quest he collects many items such as, bow and arrows, hookshot, master sword, etc. He solves puzzles and defeats foes throughout 13 dungeons before meeting Ganon for the final time. Link does all this in 80 minutes! Making this moving was very interesting but very time consuming as well. This may have been too long of a game to tackle for a first time attack, but I am happy with the result. There... Both this run and the short version use a wobbling trick in order to make Link walk a bit faster.
